When I decided to make bamboo rod,I had a question.
Already 20-30people had worked as professional builder. But most of them use Tonkin bamboo.
I thought."Why they don't use Japanese bamboo. There are lots of traditional "bamboo culture" and many sorts of bamboos are grown in Japan."
So, I studied not only about general bamboo rod but also about Japanese traditional bamboo crafts and fishing rods. I read many books about them and sometimes visited craftsmen. I learned lots of things and adopted some processes from them.
Of course, I know Tonkin bamboo is ideal for fishing rods and it has wonderful characters. But Japanese bamboo"Madake" also has unique characters.
"I would like lots of anglers to know the existance of this fascinating bamboo." I am always making rods while think this.
