I introduce you the way of repair for crack
Shakuhachi by fishing line . This way is
good for protect to crack. I always use fishing
line of Dacron or Terylene have 0.52mm in
diameter .
sProcess Pt
At first cut fishing line in 30 or 40 centimeters
. This fishing line use to draw in the end
of fishing line under the belt of line in
last process .
sProcess Qt
Before to start coil fishing line , take
about 30 or 40 centimeters to fasten tight
.
@In case coil point is near of Hushi ( joint
of bamboo ) , start to coil from far side
to joint side. If start from against side
( joint side ) , fishing line will slip easily
.

Coil 5 or 6times for next process .

Wind fishing line round your right hand like
photograph .

Wind the end of fishing line ( process 2)
round your left hand same to right hand ,
and fasten tight as strong as possible. Use fist
like lever , you can fasten tight more stronger
.
@This process is very improtant . I have experience
that after all process I had to try again
from bginning . Because it is not enough
to fasten tight strong .
sProcess Ut
When coiled about half ( 3-5 millimeters
) , pull the end of fishing line and move
the poit that fishing line was rolled up
by the belt to back side ( oppsite of mouthpiece
side ).
@In this time , fasten tight the end of fishing line as strong as possible again .
@The width is enough about 6 to 10 millimeters.
Many belts are better than one wide belt

After move fishing line to back side ( oppsite of mouthpiece side
) , cut the end of fishing line with knife .
@In this process , please take care not to
loose fishing line . Wind fishing line round your right hand and
keep it !

Make ring with fishing line ( keep in process
1 ) and roll up by fishing line like photograph .

The photograph is that coilled fishing line
remaining half .

Cut the fishing line keeping surplus length
about 40 or 50 centimeters .

Wind fishing line round your thumb of left
hand and keep it !

This photograph is keeping fishing line with
thumb . It is may be little hurt , but keep the fishing line not to loose
. The process already comes to the last process

Let the end of fishing line in the ring of
line from dawn side of ring . Please take
care not to loose fishing line .

Wind fishing line round your right hand and
fasten tight again ! I think this process is most difficult
one .
Please use your fist like lever !

Pull the end of ring slowly . If you pull
quickly line will snap by heat of friction
. So please pull carefully , slowly and slowly
.

Extract the fishing line with ring of line
and take away the ring after the fishing
line come out about 10 millimeters .

Cut the end of fishing line . And pull and
take away the end of fishing line . In this
process , please pull slowly same as 15th
process .

Sometimes there is a gap in fishing line
belt , through the process . Push the fishing line
and close the gap with body of knife . Please
take care not to mar the surface of bamboo

After the all process fix the fishing line
with super - glue from last cutting point
.
@In case of repair
@@@@After bamboo dried ( after one or two days
) , put super - glue into crack .
Befor fix the fishing line , please check
the condition of fishing line belt as 20th
process .
sProcess QOt Checking of condition
For the first time to coil fishing line ,
it is difficult to fasten tight strong .
Especially difficult to fasten tight strong
at bginning and finishhing point to coil
the line . Let's check the condition with
your thumb . If it is easily to move 2 or 3 fishing line
, it is not enough to repair and protect
for crack . Let's try again .
