Travel meeting in 2001 was carried out in Nagasaki.
The travel meeting of a usual practice of JTS was held on the September 15-16, 2001 in Nagasaki. The social gathering was held in the success of exceeding 40 persons at the maximum in the hotel near the Nagasaki station, and by the kindness of Nagasaki Electric Tramway, charter entrainment of a new style tram (class 1800) and the retrospective train No.168, the photography meeting in the Urakami depot, inspection of the data room of the third floor of the head office, etc. were performed, and participants were dispersed on the next day.

30th anniversary lecture meeting of JTS is carried out.
In commemoration of this society celebrating the 30th anniversary of foundation,the lecture meeting titled "Tramcars --yesterday, today, and tomorrow--" was held by cooperation of Transportation Museum. The titles of lectures are as follows:
"30 years history of Japan Tram Society" by Masakazu Tachihara (JTS, vice president) ,
"The history of tramcars" by Fumio Yoshikawa (JTS, member),
"The latest situations of tramscars in the world" by Hiroaki Takaoka(JTS, officer),
"From trams to LRT traffic systems" by Masatoshi Nakao (Hiroshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd., train company president).
Beginning from the history of this society, the talks just about yesterday,today, and tomorrow of a tramcar were unfolded broadly.
Most of audience listened to the lecture of president Nakao of Hiroshima Electric Railway who attended especially for this meeting.
The lecture meeting had substantial contents and was able to be ended in a great succsess.
After the lecture meeting, moving to the nearby hotel, the 30th anniversary party was performed, and friendship of the members who gathered from every place in Japan was promoted.
At this lecture meeting, great cooperation was given to us from Transportation Museum and president Nakao of Hiroshima Electric Railway. Thank you very much.

The service of the commemoration train which lends type 3300 of Toyohashi Electric Railroad to retire at March was carried out by Nagoya branch on March 26 .Type 3300 was the vehicle which came from Kanazawa, and it was being painted again to Kanazawa's color.

The photograph collection which collected the street car of Gifu and Toyohashi railroad and the figure of Okazaki's street car was published in Nagoya branch.It is sold more than the Tombo publication by 3300 yen (tax cutout) in the bookstore in Japan.
