Novel

アメリカ・テキサス州ピースター生まれ。1936年、30歳でピストル自殺。母の危篤が原因らしい。遺された作品やメモ、数多くの作品がある。
コナン・シリーズの作家。わたしも、コナンには、はまった。『不死鳥コナン』『狂戦士コナン』は、シリーズでの白眉だと思う。このひとつとなると「紅い封土」。『スカルフェイス』もいい。が、しかし『魔境惑星アルムリック』はいまいち。短編集『黒の碑』もすごくいい。コナンは創元版も読んだけど、印象が違うのは、なぜ。補作されている作品もなんか、泥臭さがなくてねえ。
