英国生まれで、現在アメリカ市民、多作であり良質な作品を書ける力を持っているんだとしつつ、あまんじて量産しているという妙な迫力を感じる作家。わりと構えた雰囲気を持っている。そこがアクの強さにもつながっているように思う。いい方向に向くと実に得難い作品をつくりだすのであるのだけれども…
有名どころは＜ザンス＞シリーズ、ところがわたしは六巻めくらいでめげてしまった。個人的にはクラスター・サーガがお気に入り。
