The characteristics of Pen F ? Well, it's many
to list up and surely you could publish those in
one book. After all, Pen F 's top of body is flat,
no projection , compact and light weight. Pen F is
a single-lens reflex camera of 17.5mm size. But
it's not reason why the top of body is flat.
Since OLYMPUS put first Pen on the market in
1959 and have commercialize various kind of Pen
series such as Pen S, Pen D, Pen W. They were all
highly efficient. As time goes on, Pen user were
wanted to more efficient model and were impatient
for new "SUPER Pen". But the development team of
OLYMPUS concluded that's impossible to find in
variation of existing Pen series. The team groped
for some new format that must be consistent with
Olympus's basic ideas. And it was not only down
sized from ordinary 35 mm size single-lens reflex
camera. They finally reached to a single-lens
reflex camera of 17.5mm size which agree to their
basic ideas. The result was flat, no projection,
small and light single-lens reflex model.
