"Play Without Words" had a great opening night
on June 25 at Theatre Cocoon in Shibuya, Tokyo
just under Orchard Hall where we had "Swan Lake" last year.
Unfortunately I haven't seen it yet.
My first PWW will be on July 1.
At that night we will have post-talk show with Matthew Bourne.
Just wait for my brief review hopefully.
Another post-talk show is planned on July 15
with Scott Ambler and other cast.
Here are two promotion video on the net.

William Tucket's "Soldier's Tale" was full of amazement and
amusement.
I really enjoyed five among six performances and was surprised
in many respects.
First of all I was stunned by the beautiful and elaborate settings.
Apparently the most remarkable perfomer was Matthew Hart.
His four diferent devils completely knocked me out.
I also found Zenaida Yanowsky is very charming actress and superb dancer.
Will Kemp did not act as only narrator but also the king, father of
the princess.
He also revealed himself as a talented dancer and actor.
And what about Adam Cooper?
Yes, he is always fabulous and never disappoints me.
He performed a young and naive soldier very naturally,
danced in sometimes comically and sometimes classically beautiful movement
and looked like enjoying it.
I was so impressed that the all four performers joyfully challenged
to
this novel and experimental production.
I believe it was a great success and hope it will be performed again
very soon.
Thank you for everything I got from my friends I met in London.
I deeply appreciate all you did for me.
Take care and see you again soon.

Sorry to be so late to upload my review about OYT.
I've been too busy enjoying the shows, you know.
Don't ask me how many times I saw it!
100 times are not enough for me, I'm afraid ;-)
Here is my general impression.
(2004/05/26)
"On Your Toes" Japan Tour in Tokyo has ended up in great success.
Congratulations, Adam!
At the closing night the theatre was full house as same as the opening
night.
It was really fantastic to see that audience, casts and crews
were integrated into A terrific performance.
Also it was a magnificent view for me all of audience gave standing
ovation
wall to wall from the very front row to the very rear row in the whole
auditorium!
Most dancers might be some tired after three week's run, but tried
their best.
The applause was our appreciation to all the people concerned
including Adam for such entertaining performances all through the run.
I hope Adam and all other dancers on the stage were pleased at it.

"Nutcracker!" ended up its Tokyo run and
will head to Hiroshima, the last place of Japan Tour.
On the last day in Tokyo, there's an accident.
Lee Smikle, the Cupid had an injury during the 1st act,
and could not dance in the 2nd Act.
We were all surprised at Philip Wilingham as the Cupid
halfway in the 2nd Act.
Fortunately Lee's injury of his toe was not serious, as he said.
I wish their way safe and successful in Hiroshima and Korea.
Anyway it was my last chance of seeing Nutcracker! as long as this
tour.
I really enjoyed it and loved it so much.
So beautiful and delightful stage!
Thank you, all staff and cast of New Adventures.
(2004/04/24)
Matthew Boune's "Nutcracker!" Japan Tour has started.
The opening day March 3 happened to be Doll's Day(or Girls' Day) in
Japan.
I hope it must be a lucky indication for this show.
The venue, Tokyo International Forum Hall C was full house
with fans, actors, actresses, dancers and many theatre and TV people.
Matthew himself was also in the auditorium checking the stage and the
audience.
The first performance met with enthusiastic welcome
and it was really beautiful and fantastic.
To my surprise, curtain call was accompanied with not only applause
but audience's beating times to the music with their hands!
I wish Matthew and NewAdventures a great success.
