私的ベスト盤を編集した動機
（１）知人から頼まれた。
（２）現在容易に入手できるベスト盤は、シングルA面曲集に近いものであり、ザ・フーの魅力の一面しか伝えていない。
選曲の基準
（１）あくまでも、個人的に魅力を感じる曲であること。
（２）ただし、とっつき易いこと。
（３）独立した曲としても楽しめること。
（３）１９６５〜１９７０編と１９７１〜１９８１編の２枚組とする。曲順については、ほぼ制作順とした（手抜きだが）。
（４）収録時間の都合上、外した曲もある（※）
