On January 6 and 7, it snowed heavily in almost all over Japan because of the large low pressure. I went to Akakura Onsen ( hot spring ) ski resort. This is a snow-covered landscape in snowstorm.

This is a big ginkgo in front of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

We call this plant Nejibana or twisting flower. Somehow I saw this in my garden.

Reeves Spirea

We call Reeves Spirea "Kodemari" or small ball since the flowers bloom like a small ball.



Hypericum Hidcote

Hypericum Hidcote is a grand cover plant and this means it covers the earth surface. We can enjpy its beautiful yellow flower. We often see them as a hedge of the road side.

On August 19, 2000, I went on a weekend trip to Grand Canyon during my stay in Oregon, USA. There were many wild squirrels there. I saw a wild squirrel at a high school campus in Oregon, but it was hard to take a picture. The squirrels here were very tame with humans, and some came up to me.

I went skiing in Shigakogen, Nagano on March 27, 2000. Snow was wonderful, though it was in spring. I was very surprised I had to put snow chains on my car at this time of the year.



Dawn at Owase Bay

I took this picture on a rubber boat at sea when I went fishing with my friends on August 29, 1999. I was moved by the changing color of the sky and unconsciously laid my rod down and took a picture. The little thing you can see in front of the island is my frined's rubber boat.



Before September 4, 1999, there was no cover photograph or I put reduced pictures from the page of Nature. I don't remember which picture I used.
