Antlion: any of several neuropterous insects
of the family Myrmeleontidae, the larva of which digs a pit in sand where
it lies in wait for ants or other insects.
- The RandomHouse College Dictionary
We often see an antlion, but it is difficult
to find its larva. I went to see the larva
with my children and found 2 larvae. Let's
see them from various angles.
 |
| They pretend to be dead on the hand, then
they begin to move backward. |
 |
 |
Put on the sand, it began to crawl backward
under the sand. |
In 10 seconds, it disappeared. |
 |
One of them dug a pit.
An ant was walking around and it dropped
into the pit.
You can see carcasses of ants. Their body
fluids are sucked dry. |
 |
| The ant tried to get out of the pit, and
at last it was caught with claws. |
