Blue Eyed Soul と言うのは文字どおり青い眼の歌手が歌うソウルミュージックのことである。
一言で言って白人の演奏する Rhythm & Blues であるわけで、それなりのノリを持っているアーティストを 指す。 勿論、黒人バンドが逆に彼らの曲をカバーするケースも多い。
元祖Righteous Brothers のＬＰのタイトル名 "Blue-eyed Soul" がこの呼称の発端のようだ。
