We only had second qualification flight of Nogome this day. The flight was scheduled afternoon so that we spend morning at the hotel and left for the site at 13:30.
Judges of F2B circle. This panel judged 186 (qualification)+48 (finals) flights in five days! Their effort was much much appreciated by participants. Thank you very much. They completed judging in very tough condition. This day was windy and cloudy too. Streamer indicated strong wind. At this moment, dark cloud was heading to the circle. Chief judge wearing red cap decided to proceed to Nogome's flight.
Nogome in preparation of his Iria World. All the Japanese models were mirror finished and attracting cameras.
Nogome adjusts Discovery Retro 60. Note he wore short sleeve shirt and short pants even judges were in winter cloths. It started raining. In the middle of his flight, the rain turned to be heavy. Five minutes after his flight, dark clouds passed by, wind became mild and sun began shining. Next competiter, Yuriy Yatsenko was lucky enough to earn 3000 points.
The result of F-I-R-S-T round of qualification flight. Note French junior Remi Beringer is on third place (He and his model was shown in Day1 report). Chinese junior (15 years old) is 27th.
Yokoyama practiced at the site. Hiki supported the model. The condition was calm at this moment. Yoko was suffered from very bad turbulance in his first flight of qualification in Day1. He was ready for the second round flight next day and praying for good condition.
Grass was too tall to take off and Hiki threw the model. Throwing model is very usual in Japan. Better avoiding bending gears and chipping blades in tall grass.
