Nemuri-Oh

story

This play is presented by very popular kabuki actors and very popular classical music singers. It is a kind of musical, and its direction is interesting. Two persons, a kabuki actor and a classical music singer performed one character. For example, Shinnosuke and Nishikiori Ken performed Otomo-no-Dainagon. Shinnosuke is one of the most popular young actors of kabuki. And Nishikiori Ken is one of the most popular classical music tenor singers. They both collaborated Otomo very well. However, Nishikiori Ken was greater than others on this play. I think that I would like to go to his recital in the near future.

However, princess Kaguya who a young kabuki actor Kantaro performed wasn't beautiful. I have no idea why Kantaro did it. He looked like a young man who shaved whiskers just before he appeared on the stage.

Although Kantaro's princess Kaguya wasn't beautiful, many young men heard her beauty reputation, and proposed marriage to her. Princess Kaguya demands to each five final candidates an unreasonable request as a gift. Although four noblemen think that it isn't reasonable to throw his life for love, it might have meant that they thought that they have a lot of thing to do in order to clear the dark from the world.

However, Otomo searched for a dragon's ball, and has wasted a time for two years. Otomo did it for a love affair, so I don't think it meant sincerity. Actually, I wonder when princess Kaguya fell in love with Otomo. If princess Kaguya had loved Otomo, she should have said 'yes' immediately to his proposal.

Princess Kaguya leaves from the Earth once, but Otomo accepts princess Tsuki-hime as princess Kaguya. And Otomo forgets sadness that princess Kaguya has gone to the moon. Everything might have been a dream of Mikado. And princess Tsuki-hime could have loved Otomo secretly for a long time. So Tsuki-hime might have appeared on the dream of Mikado as princess Kaguya. However, even if princess Tsuki-hime got his love finally, it would mean just Otomo is a young man who falls in love easily. Also I don't think that it means sincerity.

I think that princess Kaguya should come back to the moon really. And if Otomo loved princess Kaguya also after that, it would show real sincerity. Even if Otomo lived with princess Tsuki-hime happily, I think that sometimes he might miss princess Kaguya when he sees the moon. (2002,4,27)
