He couldn't find another target to hit, because the fist was clenched in order to hit himself. Before, I couldn't understand why domestic violence had happened. After I watched this play, I knew it. Matahei needed the target to hit, because he couldn't hit himself. He found his wife to hit, because she was near him. After he hit his wife, any problem wasn't solved. As I mentioned before, I know why domestic violence has happened. But it doesn't mean that I can accept domestic violence. The problem of domestic violence is the deepest problem of society like discrimination to disability. Finally, Shogen approves of the last painting of Matahei. It doesn't relate to his speech impediment. It means Matahei didn't have artistic ability enough to get the name before. He needs to be better than another ordinary persons, because he feels he isn't an ordinary man. So he wants the name of Tosa impatiently. I think his misery isn't speech impediment. His misery is that he can't accept that he is an ordinary mediocrity man.
