This story based to the revolt by Akechi Mitsuhide against his lord Oda Nobunaga. Mitsuhide cornered Nobunaga to suicide in an attack on Honnoji Temple in 1553. It has been said that Mitsuhide revenged because Nobunaga hated Mitsuhide. I think it might have been just a result, because Japanese historians had to find a reason of Mitsuhide's revolt.

In this drama, Harunaga's action is based to hatred toward Mitsuhide. But I don't think that Nobunaga hated Mitsuhide. Because Nobunaga was moody and violent to everyone. It's not particular against Mitsuhide.

When Mitsuhide surrounded Honnoji Temple, Nobunaga noticed that he had no chance to survive. Because Mitsuhide was an able commander of Nobunaga.

In this drama Mitsuhide killed Nobunaga in order to revenge, and he intended to get the world after that. I think Mitsuhide didn't think to make the world to be under his rule. If Mitsuhide had intended to make his own world, he could have done it.

Nobunaga was a genius. Mitsuhide watched his ideal on Nobunaga. But Nobunaga's ideal was higher position than Mitsuhide's understanding. Mitsuhide wanted to stop Nobunaga going to somewhere. Because he was afraid that his ideal left.

The only purpose of Mitsuhide's revolt was to kill Nobunaga. I think Mitsuhide wanted to be Nobunaga, and it doesn't mean he wanted to get Nobunaga's position.

At the result, he couldn't catch to Nobunaga. Nobody can catch Nobunaga any more because he was killed. When Nobunaga committed a suicide, he must have laughed Mitsuhide.
