Present,erdinary the "Mess-Jacket",but in case of formal, "Tail-Coat" exists as the option too. In case of formal-dress, the black Mess-Jacket is worn with the white bow tie, the white vest, the white wing-collar shirt. Also, the wear of the black Tail-Coat is admitted as the option. And a white glove for the formal dress is with it. Trousers are black for the formal dress and are hung with the suspenders. As for the one before the WW2, there were side-trim but at present, it is abolished. The " Tuxedo " has two kinds of the black Mess-Jackets and the white Mess-Jackets. The black bow tie and the black formal trousers ,the yellow cummerbund ,the white dress shirt are adjusted to them. And a white glove for the formal dress is with it. The black Mess-Jackets are worn in 3 seasons and the white Mess-Jackets are worn in the summer and the hot place. The Tail-Coat is not popular, but it is still on the U.S Navy's Uniform Regulations. However, the present mainstream is the Mess-Jacket. It is not sure when the Mess-Jacket became mainstream ,but maybe after the WW2. The Tail-Coat before the WW2 attach the epaulet to the shoulder and there is the side trim on the trousers ,at present, it is abolished(See Disappeared uniforms).
